Longin Kobeszko, born February 20th, 1939 in Długołęka in the Krypno commune, the child of Weronika (Gawełko) and Dominik Kobeszko. His father was a professional mason and stovemaker. He was shot in 1946 by one of the bands raiding the area. In 1944 along with his parents and sibliings he moved to Białystok. From 1946 he attended the 2nd Common School at Grunwaldzka Street. In 1958 he finished a course for driver-mechanics in Warsaw, where he also got his first job and the Warsaw Construction Company (at the Warsaw Smelting Plant). Between 1959 and 1962 he served in Military Service. Until his retirement he worked as a driver at the Provincial Consumers Cooperative, which was later transformed into PSS Społem. In 1980 he coorganised the “Solidarność” Union at the Provincial Consumers Cooperative. In 1996 he retired. From 1980 he is the member of the “Solidarność” Union.
