Oral history

Thanks to e-Mediateka project many recordings will be available. Were chosen  interviews with people connected with Bialystok (among others: artists, athletes, enthusiasts, “ordinary” citizens of Bialystok, Esperantists) which show a diverse range of topics. They are located within broad framework of possible time, refer to  history of Bialystok and Podlasie, taking into account topics involving stories of people from Bialystok or Podlasie, but sometimes beyond the geographical area (e.g. bieżeństwo, deportations, Warsaw uprising, emigration). Moreover Mediateka CLZ as the only one in Poland multimedia library contains wide documentation Esperanto movement, and this part of the collection will be also presented in e-Mediateka. Users will have an opportunity to get to know with whole interviews or fragments, connected with chosen topics.

Oral history

Dobrowolski Stanisław

Stanisław Dobrowolski, born the 4th of May in 1951 in Zary, lubuskie voividship, studied Russian philology on branch of Warsaw University in Bialystok. He worked among others as turner, OHS inspector, provider, fashion designer. He cooperated with “Tygodnik Kulturalny”, student’s weekly magazine “Itd.”, “Motywy”, “Stolica”. He was a journalist in “Kurier Podlaski”, “Gazeta Współczesna”, “Kontakty”, he is a publisher of bimonthly magazine about medical topics. Membership in organizations: Polish Association of Radio Amateurs (since 1970), Polish Association of Esperantists (1986 – 1990), Bialystok Association of Esperantists (since 1990) long time chairman of management. Interests: growing strange plants, vegetables and flowers on recreational land, photography, amateur radio. He likes traveling, especially with family, preparing trips of summer hiking. Since 1968 for today he has written memoirs, some of them were published, among others in collection of poems “Images of youth” (1974).
